Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager’s role is to oversee business investment decisions and help develop strategic financial goals for the company. This is a crucial role in identifying and assessing potential investment and/or acquisition opportunities for Taylor’s mainly in SEA region.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Take responsibility for relevant field and desktop research, including markets mapping, competitive landscape, and regulatory frameworks

· Support TEPL President in nurturing relationships with target institutions in order to develop a full understanding of their business models, addressable market, short-term and medium-term strategies, key, risk factors, and other relevant content categories

· Demonstrate a strong financial modelling background, needed to construct financial models and evaluate performance of different businesses

· Collaborate with CFO to analyze the impact of different capital structures and recommend potential transaction structures

· Provide support to the team for the coordination of relevant due diligence activities as well as negotiation of contracts

· Contribute on an ad-hoc basis on certain projects that are central to TEPL’s planning and execution.

· Good stakeholder management and liaise with different teams, involvement in project management, execution - work with country level relationship teams, side by side with subject matter experts

· Experience in the Education sector preferred

· Extroverted individual who enjoys outreach and meeting new companies, networking with relevant people, and promoting the interests of the Group in public and private settings.

· Strategic thinker who can quickly grasp the market opportunity of these institutions and determine whether it is aligned with TEPL’s goals and interests, as well as whether the companies’ prospects are highly likely, somewhat likely, or unlikely.

· Analytical mindset, to provide valuation and financial analysis using different methods

· Strong communicator (verbal and written) who can persuade others

· Exceptional work ethic in order to accelerate the development of a high-quality pipeline.

· Results-driven person, who will see the completion of various forms of agreements as demonstration of success (examples include MOU / Termsheet, LOI, Partnership Agreement, and other formal agreements.)

· Experience in the Education sector preferred

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

 

· Bachelor’s Degree from a selective university required

· Minimum 5 years’ work experience required preferably in transaction support or corporate finance functions
