Temporary ICT Executive, TIS Puchong  

 

Responsible for providing day-to-day first level end-user support for ICT operations of the school core system and infrastructure and report to the ICT Manager.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide network administration services, including setting up new users, maintaining email distribution lists, maintaining the user databases, password security, managing access policies and monitoring performance.
  • Carry out daily backup, archiving, housekeeping and other maintenance tasks on a regular and as required basis.
  • Provide support for the school servers and network equipment within the organization.
  • Assist with the production and maintenance of all network systems and server documentation and record logging.
  • Assist with the upkeep of the school ICT network and server inventory.
  • Assist on the implementation of the school ICT Strategy.
  • Responsible for the installation of new and existing network software applications.
  • Responsible for new server deployment and configuration.
  • Assist with the development and management of the cross-school ICT systems including AD, Email, VLE and Virtual Private Network (VPN), etc.
  • Monitor and manage bandwidth allocation and usage within the school.
  • Employ safe working practices and to comply with the relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Provide planned and ad hoc support for staff and students who have ICT queries or additional ICT requirements relating to their learning and teaching.
  • Work with users to ensure that appropriate ICT support (resources) are made available as required for classes, staff and students.
  • Ensure that learning and teaching areas within the School are maintained in a proper manner with regard to student and staff needs and available software licenses and other legal considerations. This will be achieved by working closely with other support staff;
  • Provide ICT training on application for groups of staff on a planned and ad hoc basis.

 

Educational Application : CALMS, Engage, Oliver, Moodle, etc

  • Troubleshoot software problems
  • Do routine maintenance such as updating new version on to user’s computers
  • Provide basic training to users
  • Generate/customize reports for users.

 

Website/Intranet

  • Maintain school website, intranet & related web pages
  • Ensure the sites accessible anytime anywhere
  • Enhancing look & feel on the existing system
  • Documentation

 

Others

  • Assist school in preparing documents, charts & related materials.
  • ISO records keeping

                              

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree/Diploma in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of working experience in hands-on technical support, network, and system troubleshooting
  • Proficient in Mac OS, IOS, Windows OS, and etc. Hand-on experience on the mentioned operating systems.
  • Well-versed in Google environment and Microsoft O365 administration.

 

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

 

  • Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Initiative and able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as a team player
  • Fundamental understanding of networking technology principles
  • Knowledge of networking concepts [Local Area Network (LAN) including Ethernet and TCP/IP]
  • Familiar with network equipment, configuration and setting, such as router, switch and firewall. Knowledge of web services configuration, setting and management.
  • Knowledge in PHP and ASP.net Programming
  • Familiar with SDLC structure and specification
  • Individual with can-do attitude, willing to learn, team player, and result driven.
  • Fluent in English both oral and written
