Position Overview:
We are seeking a Primary Classroom teacher to join our Junior School team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Australian curriculum, support student development and contribute positively to our vibrant school community. The Primary Teacher must be a passionate and inspiring educator who ensures the Junior School is a place where quality teaching and learning is facilitated for all students. A teacher demonstrates initiative, leadership, flexibility, creativity and a positive work ethic.

 

Key Result Area/Responsibilities:

  • Provide an exemplary student-centred, ICT rich learning experience for students in your care.

  • Plan, program and deliver high quality teaching and learning activities that are designed to meet the diverse needs within any class.

  • Maintain a safe and secure educational environment meeting appropriate standards of behaviour.

  • Assess and report in line with School expectations.

  • Undertake tasks associated with the ongoing development of the School’s curriculum.

  • Develop productive and respectful relationships with parents and colleagues to ensure effective learning for students at the School.

  • Participate in professional growth.

  • Contribute to the provision of a rich and diverse co-curricular experience for students in the School.

  • Other duties as directed by the Principal or Head of School.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proven skills in designing, implementing and evaluating differentiated and inspirational learning experiences for students.

  • Confident in using educational technology to enhance learning, such as interactive tools, learning platforms, and digital resources.

  • Knowledge and experience applying the principles of Visible Learning would be highly regarded.

  • Strong classroom management skills, lesson planning and assessment

  • Spoken and written English is used for all school communications and as such a high standard of English communication skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening is required to be successful in this position.

  • Strong knowledge of child development and how young learners grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally

  • Key professional qualities include patience, creativity, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development.

     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or Degree in Speciality plus Diploma of Education

  • Current Teacher Registration in home country, including relevant Police Checks

  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience

  • Previous teaching experience in an Early Childhood, Kindergarten or Foundation Stage setting is preferred.
