JOB PURPOSE

 

The ideal candidate will have skills encompassing both in-depth learning design, instructional design, writing, familiarity with learning platforms, and the use of e-learning development software. The incumbent’s role is to be responsible for activities related to transforming content for online distance learning (ODL) and digital credentials. The role comes with designing and developing a wide range of e-Learning content and solution to support the full-fledged online learning initiatives of Taylor’s in the learning platform, as well as guiding junior learning designers. The incumbent’s roles may also involve delivering training to end users via classroom or online in areas of web-based educational models and corresponding software tools.

 

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Participate in the design, construction, and implementation of e-learning applications and courseware that support ODL and digital credentials initiatives of the institution.
  • Developing strategies and technologies that leverage digital media to instruct and educate staff involved in the ODL/digital credential projects.
  • Assist faculty in producing learning content as well as delivering technology training via web-based educational models and corresponding software tools.
  • Implement and deliver training sessions for faculty on learning design and delivery for ODL/digital credentials.
  • Review training materials and documentation and keep them up to date.
  • Oversee the conceptualisation, development, and layout of the appropriate technical infrastructure required to deliver digital e-learning content to its audience.
  • Create, administer, analyse, and report on end-user progress; recommend and integrate training improvement strategies based on findings.
  • Communicate issues on the learning platform to the relevant support teams.
  • Assess,    recommend,    and purchase courseware packages and support the development of appropriate courseware tools.
  • Conduct research into e-Learning products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.
  • Where necessary, manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct report or the higher management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Minimum Qualification

 

  • Possess a recognized Bachelor/Master’s degree in any relevant field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Education, English/TESL, Instructional Design and Technology, Multimedia Design and Development, or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of working experience in Instructional Content Designing, and e-learning applications in an end-user or vendor environment, preferably in an educational institution.
  • Teaching/training experience will be an added advantage.
