JOB PURPOSE
The BO Chargeman manages and maintains the school’s physical facilities resource and services to ensure proper operation of all aspects of a building to create an optimal, safe and cost effective environment for the occupants to function.
Facilities Maintenance
- BO Chargeman in charge of 11KV HT & LV Electrical Installation, in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirement.
- Assist Facilities Manager to oversee, lead and supervise preventive and predictive maintenance, trouble shooting and corrective maintenance, work order scheduling, planning, system operation and inspection for all building related maintenance works, i.e., mechanical, electrical, electronic sections etc.
- Assist Facilities Manager to maintain, install and trouble-shoot of electrical systems, air-condition system, fire system, building, plant, machinery and equipment.
- Assist Facilities Manager to liaise with utilities providers such as TNB and relevant regulatory bodies on various utility services and compliance matters.
- Assist Facilities Manager to conduct monitoring, trending and tracking of daily power consumption, and initiate preventive maintenance to prevent or minimize equipment breakdown and power failure.
- Assist Facilities Manager to handle Visiting Engineer’s inspection and update status on electrical supply condition.
Health & Safety
- Assist Facilities Manager to manage and review the fire protection system.
- Support the Facilities Manager to the implementation of emergency evacuation procedures.
- Assist Facilities Manager to review the health and safety condition of the school.
- Assist Facilities Manager to maintenance and monitoring of security system (e.g. CCTV, intruder detector, motion detector, etc.).
- Assist Facilities Manager to monitor of the traffic & parking.
- Assist Facilities Manager to identify and resolution of potential health & safety hazards.
- Assist Facilities Manager to review & renewal of relevant safety certificates in meeting the statutory requirements.
School PRD Upgrade & Projects
- Assist Facilities Manager to coordinate the facilities improvement and renovation projects implementation.
- Assist Facilities Manager to solicit estimates, specifications and make recommendation for maintenance/replacement/renovation works and/or equipment purchases where necessary.
School Logistics
- Assist Facilities Manager to organize and lead the set up and clear away as required of furniture and equipment for assemblies, school events, exams and external venue hires.
Housekeeping
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained.
- Assist Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance of school’s landscaping and green areas.
Others
- Any other tasks that may be assigned by school’s management from time to time.
- Attend to any ad-hoc tasks required by the superior from time to time
C. JOB SPECIFICATION
MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Must possess Suruhanjaya Tenaga BO Chargeman Certificate.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years’ experience in facilities/building management and maintenance, preferably in an education institution.
