Assistant Manager, Finance
JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Manager reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for full set of financial reports, develops and analyzes financial reports; compiles and analyzes financial information; assist in forecast and budget planning; supports Finance Manager in financial risk and compliance management.
KEY RESULT AREA/RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Development and Delivery of Accounting Processes
Develop, improve and implement a set of common-core business processes,and system on best practice, to improve efficiency for the department’saccounting processes;
Responsible for preparation of timely and accurate periodical Managementaccounts and reports;Contribute to the development of financial processes by raising issues andopportunities as part of a regular dialogue with the Institution.
2.AccountsResponsible for the School’s monthly management accounts & reports andyearly audited accounts.
Ensure timely invoice preparation and collections of School fees & other feesin accordance with the School’s Fees Collection policyEnsure timely preparation of monthly financial reports and information,variance analysis reports
Preparation of audit and tax schedules and attend to auditors/tax queriesResponsible to prepare revenue and overhead forecast for both the currentyear and the forthcoming years
3.Budgets and Management Information
Produce financial management analysis and information;
Monitor the operating cost and other budgets to ensure that these remain ontrack to keep within budget by the financial year end.
Work with the Head of Departments on approved operating budgets in linewith School’s strategic plans.
Assist in providing Financial Data for the annual planning process, includingrevenue and overheads budgets and forecast.
Responsible for the integrity of data, ensuring that financial records are bothaccurate and retained according to Institution guidelines.
Provide support with costings for new school activities or events
4.School Fees, billing and credit control
Manage student related accounting activities, advise parents tuition and billing issues; coordinate with Admission on enrollment invoicing and income projections, recommend action on bad debt and write offs;
5.Cash and Banking
Responsible to manage cash and cheque collection process; and liaison with banks on other receivable and payable activities; handle bank related matters and documentationPreparation of weekly cash forecast and monthly cashflow projections.
6.Staff Management
Manage a team of direct reports, to develop their skills both individually and as a team so that they can provide the quality works and services, this will include the induction, appraisal and performance management of team members.
