JOB PURPOSE

 

The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for the design, delivery, evaluation, and reporting of staff training programmes, as well as providing administrative and operational support to academic staff's enhancement and development initiatives under the Teaching and Educational Development, Centre for Future Learning (CFL) through active engagement with HOS/PDs.

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•Assist in conducting effective training needs analysis to determine staff development needs.

•Assist in designing and implementing training programs that support the professional growth of academic staff in line with institutional goals and the Taylor’s Curriculum Framework.

•Support the delivery of staff development programs at Taylor's University by sourcing, promoting, administering, and evaluating training programs and other professional development initiatives.

•Coordinate all training-related registrations, invoices and payments efficiently and effectively.

•Assist in organizing the Taylor's Teaching and Learning Conference (TTLC) and other academic development events as required.

•Facilitate workshops and/or conduct learning and teaching-related training, enhancing the teaching and learning experience for academic staff.

•Support the submission of training applications and claims to the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).

•Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of training programs and assist in the preparation of progress reports for internal stakeholders.

•Prepare reports on training activities, participation, feedback, and outcomes.

•Assist in generating, preparing, and distributing TES reports to relevant stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.

•Coordinate the operational aspect of professional development programs, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning, Tutor Development Programme, and Academic Leadership Development Programme.

•Continuously assess and improve the design and delivery of training programs based on feedback and evolving institutional needs.

•Perform any additional duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the staff development function.

•Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

 

MINIMUM ACADEMIC/ PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION 

 

Preferably Master's Degree in Education, and/or with 2 years of working experience, preferably in an educational institution. 

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE

 

Familiarity with higher education sector. Direct, recent experience with e-Learning development, curriculum design, training methodologies and online education would be an advantage.
