The Senior Wellbeing Ambassador plays a vital role in fostering a supportive, inclusive, and engaging residential community at Taylor’s Residence. This position focuses on ensuring resident well-being, leading and mentoring residence staff, organizing community activities, and maintaining operational excellence. This role also involves collaborating with other departments to enhance resident satisfaction, address concerns promptly, and create a thriving, balanced living environment.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Resident Well-being & Support:

    • Oversee resident welfare and mental well-being through weekly check-ins.
    • Address resident concerns promptly, responding within an hour for high-priority issues.
    • Provide immediate support and guidance during crises, connecting residents to the appropriate resources.

 

Community Building:

  • Implement activities or workshops to foster a strong sense of belonging and community among residents.
  • Plan & organize events focused on physical, social, mental, and intellectual well-being, ensuring inclusivity and diversity.
  • Collaborate with Wellbeing Ambassadors to gather feedback and ideas for community activities.
  • Mediate resident conflicts transparently, document incidents thoroughly, and liaise with campus security, counseling, and other relevant departments.

 

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to ensure effective operations.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance skills in conflict resolution, resident support, and facility management.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture, encourage initiative, and manage team schedules and workload for optimal efficiency.

 

Operational Efficiency

  • Conduct regular inspections of common areas, resident rooms, and facilities to ensure cleanliness and maintenance needs are addressed.
  • Liaise with maintenance teams and external contractors for timely repairs and safety protocol compliance, including fire drills and emergency preparedness.

 

Administrative Duties

  • Oversee and ensure timely completion of resident records, incident reports, and weekly documentation.
  • Assist with check-in, check-out, and during-stay processes while maintaining accurate records of resident activities and transfers.
  • Facilitate communication between the residence experience and welfare team, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient reporting.
  • Track and implement follow-up actions for resident feedback.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to both on-campus and off-campus matters to ensure seamless operational support and compliance.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualification & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma holders in any discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience, preferably in higher education environment.

Competencies

  • Must stay-in 24/7 when on duty (accommodation provided by the company).
  • A team player with good working attitude.
  • Committed to keep deadlines, accuracy of work and flexible to multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work on own initiatives and under tight schedules.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work responsibilities and environment.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, ie Excel, Word, Power Point and Flow Charts.
  • Possess a command of English & Bahasa Malaysia. Chinese language will be an added advantage.
