RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

Teaching & Learning

 

  • Undertake teaching and teaching-related duties such as design, preparation, and development of teaching materials; conduct classes/lectures, tutorials, and practicals; consultation with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment.
  • Participate and contribute to high-quality programme and curriculum development
  • Plan and implement teaching strategies to optimise student learning as well as to motivate them.
  • Support in research project work and scholarship of postgraduate students
  • Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University’s teaching and learning expectations.

 

Research

 

  • Participate in scholarly activities, including undertaking research, conference presentations, journal publications, and relevant community work.
  • Support efforts to secure grants for research activities and scholarships as co-researcher.
  • Achieve the specified set of research outcome targets for the Senior Lecturer level of appointment.

 

Administration and Other Activities

 

  • Undertake and contribute to administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participating in committees, and working groups within the Department, School, and Faculty
  • Participate in continuous relevant professional activities
  • Assist in establishing linkages with external organisations/ professional bodies in academic-related matters

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Possess a PhD in Political Science or a closely related field from a reputable institution
  • At least 8 years of experience in a higher education environment, including a minimum of 4 years of teaching political science-related subjects
  • Expertise in curriculum development and the ability to design effective teaching methodologies and materials
  • Proficient in using learning management systems such as Moodle and other IT technologies to facilitate teaching and learning
  • Published 3-5 papers in Scopus or ISI (Web of Science) over the past 5 years
  • Preferably with h-index 3
  • Experience in supervising at least one Master’s degree student
  • Have cumulative research grant of RM20,000 – RM30,000
  • Experience with research projects, professional practice, or consultancy work, with evidence of relevant outputs
  • Demonstrated links to relevant external organisations and/or the profession
