Senior Executive - School Marketing

JOB PURPOSE

Taylor’s College (TC) has a 5-decade long reputation of placing the best students in the top universities worldwide. TC aims to retain its reputation and position as the No. 1 college in Malaysia complementing the university in product offering and brand image.

Reporting to the Manager – School Marketing, the Senior Executive will be responsible to assist the Manager in the planning, leading and executing of the overall school marketing and digital engagement execution for Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College. The objective is to build, maintain and establish Taylor’s as the preferred brand in the education industry and to drive interest, engagement and enrolment of high school students into Taylor’s institutions. The role leads on-ground campaigns and engagement with targeted secondary schools, and drives digital initiatives including content creation for social platform.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be an active advocate of the brand for secondary schools to build brand preference and influence.
  • Lead the on-ground engagement initiatives with secondary school students and gatekeepers (teachers, principals, etc.) to increase awareness and influence brand preference of Taylor’s College while strengthening relationships with gatekeepers.
  • Work extensively with schools across the country (private, public, international, Chinese independent school) by helping to shape winning marketing and branding strategies.
  • Work closely with relevant internal stakeholders in the planning and execution of school marketing strategies to achieve overall commercial goals i.e. delivering compelling messaging, activities and collaterals to support all school marketing.
  • Adopt a data-driven approach in all decision-making, using insights and performance metrics to guide strategies and actions.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

 

Secondary School Engagement

  • Assist manager in identifying/uncovering insights, decision making process amongst audience, defining need-states and gaps to better target the different segments of audience i.e. SMK, International, UEC and other markets.
  • Support the designing of customer journey, brand messaging and identify touch points for multiple target groups within school marketing, i.e. (CY+1).
  • Raise the awareness and visibility of the brand within school compounds.
  • Act as the liaison between Taylor’s with Ministry of Education (MOE), School gatekeepers and 3rd parties for all the initiatives executions of inbound (campus events) and outbound events (school campaign roadshow, talk and education fairs) for students and teachers.
  • Build and grow partnerships with government and international schools nationwide through regular visits and strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by obtaining all required approvals from Ministry of Higher Education, Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri (JPN), Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD), schools (SMK, SMJK, SMK, SBP, etc.) and other relevant parties for all schools’ campaigns and activities.
  • Contribute to the development of nurturing communication aligned with marketing calendar activities.
  • Plan, organize and execute all strategic initiatives as planned in an innovative, creative and energetic manner to recruit new students.
  • Achieve the overall national leads target objective by deploying all initiatives via specific platforms.

 

Administrative & Operations

  • Improve day-to-day operations to achieve optimal efficiency via development of effective evaluation methodology and measurement tools/reports.
  • Raising PR/PO & ensuring billing (invoice process) documents under A&P plans are booked & processed on time within approved budgets.
  • Track and ensure marketing expenses are within allocated and approved budgets.
  • Execute all School Marketing campaigns and activities within the planned timeline.
  • Ensure all School Marketing data is uploaded in Jarvis (sales force) within 5-10 working days post campaign/event.
  • Prepare and deliver post-campaign/event evaluation with clear measure of success as defined in the marketing objectives/KPI within 2 weeks of each campaign.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Advertising, Business, Event Management, Hotel/Hospitality Management or other relevant field

 RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • Preferably at least 4 years of working experience, preferably in an educational institution, servicing schools

  • Good interpersonal communication, strong presentation and writing skills, especially in English and Malay, to address broad spectrum of colleagues and external partners
  • Thorough and precise in their work with a good attention to detail
  • Extroverted, outgoing personality and interpersonal skills
  • Have basic technical knowledge in using social media platforms and tools
  • Experienced in using, or willing and able to learn Adobe and other CRM systems
  • Have strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and self-directed professional who knows what needs to be done and operates with a sense of urgency, focus and discipline
  • A fast learner with the ability to proactively gain external industry knowledge and continued learning
  • Portrays strong conviction and critical thinking skills, basic analytical skills, self-manage, and meet multiple objectives in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
  • Experience in presenting ideas to management level and stakeholders is an added advantage
