Postdoctoral Fellow - Hospitality

JOB PURPOSE
A postdoctoral fellow is a team member of a research project/group that contributes high quality research outputs and provides support to projects and project workers within the team, under the supervision of the principal investigator or project head. As such, they conduct research, either on a pre-specified project or one of their own design/topics and publish that research.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and conducts experimental activities related to the assigned projects.
- Assist the principal investigator/head in managing the research activities of the team, including research budgets and managing the use of research resources.
- Contribute to teaching and assisting in the supervision of postgraduate research students and in the development of student/junior researchers’ research skills.
- Assist the principal investigator/head in the planning of research projects, preparation of proposals and applications to external bodies, e.g. for funding and contractual purposes.
- Contribute towards the development of research reports and publications, preparing papers and presenting research progress and outcomes of research projects.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time by the principal investigator/head
QUALIFICATION
Applicant must be within 5 years of obtaining a PhD. Publication in C.I. journal (ISI, SCOPUS) with at least 1 publication.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Experience in carrying out research independently will be an added advantage.
