RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Learning
- Undertake teaching and teaching-related duties, such as designing, preparing, and developing teaching materials.
- Conduct classes/lectures, tutorials, and practicals; engage in consultations with students; perform invigilation, marking, and assessment.
- Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University’s teaching and learning expectations.
Administration and Other Activities
- Undertake and contribute to administrative responsibilities, including attending departmental meetings and participating in committees and working groups within the Department, School, and Faculty.
REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate must have a minimum Master Degree in Music, Vocal Performance, or a related field or a Bachelor‟s Degree with 3 years of related work experience in the subject taught or equivalent professional experience may be considered in exceptional cases.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in teaching vocal techniques at a tertiary level.
- Demonstrated experience as a performer in professional settings (concerts, opera, musical theatre, or contemporary music).
- Experience in curriculum development and academic administration is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of vocal pedagogy, including classical and contemporary vocal techniques.
- Ability to teach a diverse repertoire, including classical, jazz, musical theatre, and contemporary commercial music.
- Experience in choral conducting, vocal ensemble coaching, or diction and phonetics is preferred.
- Knowledge of music theory, aural skills, and musicianship related to vocal training.
