The Multimedia Specialist leads the creative process of designing, developing, and collaborating on multimedia content across various digital platforms. This role requires a blend of creative design sensibility and technical expertise to produce digital content that engage, educate, and inform audiences. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate proficiency in crafting impactful user interface designs and content for presentations, digital showcases, events, websites, and learning platforms. Strong skills in motion graphics, graphic design, 2D/3D modelling, animation, audio, and video editing are highly desirable and will provide a competitive advantage.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES                                   

  1. Responsible for leading and producing the end-to-end creative process in conceptualizing, designing, and producing multimedia assets and visual content. This includes developing presentations, multimedia projects, showcases, event visuals, logos, illustrations, website elements, and learning materials. The role also involves ensuring cohesive colour schemes, effective visual communication, and alignment of design elements with intended messages and learning objectives.
  2. Prepare final artwork and media assets for production by managing prepress processes, operating relevant design and output equipment, and coordinating with external vendors for printing, fabrication, or digital deployment as needed.
  3. Provide creative direction in identifying target audiences and defining the scope, direction, and strategy of visual communication solutions. This includes guiding the conceptual development and execution of design ideas to ensure relevance, clarity, and impact in reaching the intended audience.
  4. Plan, manage, and monitor project workflows; analyze progress metrics and deliver comprehensive reports. Identify areas for enhancement and implement strategic improvements to optimize project outcomes and creative efficiency.
  5. Provide strategic guidance and support to internal teams, clients, and external partners, including agencies, vendors, and freelancers; on creative direction, design solutions, and technical implementation. Effectively translate user needs and project requirements into intuitive, visually compelling, and functional design outcomes.
  6. When required, lead, mentor, and provide constructive guidance to junior team members and students undergoing practical training, ensuring alignment with project goals, creative standards, and professional development objectives.
  7. Actively contribute to team or departmental objectives by supporting cross-functional collaboration and delivering high-quality creative outcomes aligned with project goals and timelines.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of e-Learning Academy.

 

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Multimedia Design Proficiency: Strong technical skills in multimedia design with an added advantage in 2D and 3D modelling.
  • Web Development Skills: Advanced proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and web design principles.
  • eLearning Authoring Tools: Proficient in contemporary eLearning tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, Camtasia, Vyond, Powtoon, and Videoscribe for developing interactive, video-based, and animated learning experiences. Familiar with H5P and Genially for creating web-based interactive content. Experience with Figma and/or Adobe XD for prototyping user-centric learning interfaces.
  • Game-Based Learning Design: Ability to conceptualize and develop interactive, game-based learning experiences (preferred).
  • Graphic and Desktop Publishing: Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for digital and print design.
  • Creative Direction: Strong sense of creativity, UI/UX, visual storytelling, layout composition, and artistic expression.
  • Project Management: Capable of planning, executing, and overseeing multimedia projects to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Proven ability to build, manage, and maintain productive stakeholder and vendor relationships.
  • Performance Management: Demonstrates ownership of personal performance, growth and continuous improvement.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualification

  • Possess a recognised degree in Multimedia Design and Technology/ Graphic and Multimedia Design, or equivalent.
  •  Minimum three (3) years of working experience in multimedia design and development, preferably in an educational institution.

  • Possess strong knowledge, skills and experience in multimedia production, from conceptual design stage to implementation.
  • Ability to be self-directed to manage, plan, design, implement and maintain multimedia related projects.

  • Creative, able to master multimedia related authoring tools and programming skills in producing high-end and relevant multimedia elements.
