Manager - Student Recruitment and Experience (PG) & Business Development (B2B)

The Manager, Student Recruitment and Experience (Postgraduate) & Business Development (B2B) is responsible for assessing, planning, and developing opportunities, including the development and execution of long-term and annual plans for the recruitment of postgraduate students, in alignment with the goals and targets set by Taylor’s University.
The role is also responsible for driving the Business Development of the Government, Corporate Sponsorship, and Partnership segment of Taylor’s Higher Education, supporting both Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University. He/She is accountable to achieve both segment and team recruitment targets through Government/Corporate entities and other assigned feeder channels.
This includes identifying and cultivating strategic relationships with industry partners, government bodies, and external stakeholders to drive enrolments from the corporate and professional markets.
The manager is accountable for achieving both individual and team targets for postgraduate and corporate-sponsored/partnership enrolments. Additionally, the role supports the achievement of campus-wide sales targets by contributing actively to the student recruitment pipeline (Leads, Contacts, Appointments, Visits, Enrolments, and Registrations) for postgraduate programmes.
Through a combined focus on postgraduate student recruitment and strategic external engagement, this role plays a key part in advancing the enrolment objectives of both Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College.
KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the sales strategies planning and implementation for the Malaysian market with the objective of increasing student enrolment in the various postgraduate programmes at the University College/ University from various segments.
- Effectively develop and implement innovative business development strategies to market and promote the postgraduate programmes offered by the University to various segments
- Responsible for the planning and monitoring of annual budget for the sales events/activities to be implemented for the academic year.
- Strategize and implement sales and marketing plans for the targeted markets to increase the student enrolment and to work very closely with the Institutional Marketing Department to create and maintain up-to-date and accurate listing of organisations to receive updated marketing materials/collaterals
- Identify and contact Government and Corporate Entities to make appropriate presentations to promote the courses and programmes offered by the College/University
- Provide copies of latest marketing materials/collaterals to clients in Government and Corporate Entities
- Establish and maintain effective business relationships with industry, professional bodies, and government/corporate Entities in respect to matters pertaining to the recruitment of students
- Plan, implement and participate in all major student recruitment activities which include, but may not be limited to, education fair representations, school visits, Open Days and special events organised to attract potential students
- Advise and recommend to the Management, appropriate activities/events, and timing for student recruitment activities and to constantly monitor and provide feedback on response on activities for further improvement via monthly/quarterly/annual report
- Support all marketing activities and develop network links to create more awareness of the courses and programmes offered by the College & University
- Provide advice to prospective and newly admitted students with regards to the postgraduate programs as well as non-academic matters at the College & University at large
- Conduct research on potential markets; gather and analyse competitors’ information and constantly update the market analysis to be on par with the top universities in the region
- Maintain current information on trends and developments in the education industry and present recommendations for marketing and promotions of the courses offered by the College & University
- Develop annual plans for sales events and student recruitment in collaboration with other staff members in the department
- Assist and provide input in the development of marketing and promotional materials in all media to support the marketing activities of the College & University
- Undertake any other projects that may be assigned from time to time by the Management of Taylor’s.
JOB SPECIFICATION
MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business/Management/Marketing or related discipline
RELATED EXPERIENCE
- At least seven (7) years of working experience in marketing, promotion and public relations in a target driven sales environment, with two to three (2-3) years in managerial role
- Business development and account management experience in the education environment is preferred
- Experience and network with Government/Corporate Entities would be an added advantage
