JOB PURPOSE

The Learning Designer is responsible for the coordination of the full online programmes. The designer is also responsible for the creation of content for full online products (qualification, executive courses etc) offered by the University. The role comes with designing and developing a wide range of e-Learning content/solutions, and collaborating closely with the discipline specialist. The designer will be expected to comply to standards/benchmark used for full online programmes and develop with the discipline specialist all required assets (learning activities, assessments etc). The designer is also responsible for the upload of all contents in the Learning Management System, and collaborate with the Head of Quality to ensure the content is functioning effectively.

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the back-end systems and coordinating full online programmes
  • Produce all assets (content, visuals etc) for the module/product allocated to the designer, collaborating closely with the discipline experts
  • Be proficient in all technologies / software used for the production of assets, complying to all standards applied for full online products.
  • Comply to the development timelines, and take initiatives to ensure the module/product is ready on time.
  • Upload all assets of a module/product in the LMS, and ensure compliance to upload standards
  • Rectify all defects reported by the Head of Quality before a module/product is offered to ensure compliance according to the standards
  • Enhance assets before a module / product is offered based on feedbacks from pilot test
  • Enhance assets after a module / product is offered based on students feedbacks
  • Collaborate with the Director of Learning Experience to implement upgrades to a module/product (new activities etc)
  • Communicate issues on the learning platform to the relevant support teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct report or the higher management.

The position is open to candidates with or without learning design experience. The designer will be expected to acquire the following competencies:

  • Proficiency in all technologies / software used in the development of modules/products

  • Key understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to the module/product development

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualification

  • The position is open to candidates with or without learning design experience, but experience in education (tutoring, teaching etc) is a plus.
  • Possess a recognized Master’s degree (degree holder might be considered based on their background) in any relevant field. For example: Education, English/TESL, Instructional Design and Technology, Multimedia Design and Development, discipline based (Computer Science, Software Engineering etc).
  • Experience working in instructional content design or producing e-learning content is a plus

 

Candidates without experience in learning design will be provided with the required training.
