The Finance intern will support the Finance & Accounts team in daily finance operations, focusing on accounts receivables, accounts payable, reporting and administrative tasks. This role offers practical exposure to corporate finance and accounting processes. This role will be on a rotational basis with other departments in the organization, exposing the individual to different areas of operations within a vibrant residential community.

 

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Accounts receivable
  • Responsible for data entry and management of student-related financials, including check-ins, renewals, room changes, charges, and check-outs.
  • Review tenancy agreements for accuracy and completeness; ensure all required fields are properly filled. 
  • Cross-check tenancy details against system records and flag discrepancies for correction. 
  • Assist with stamp duty filing and IRB portal requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute invoices, official receipts, and statements of account as and when needed.
  • Assist in following up on overdue accounts and sending payment reminders.
  1. Accounts payable
  • Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system accurately and promptly.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and ensure correct coding of transactions to accounts and cost centers.
  1. GL
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

 

  1. Program & Event Support 
  • Assist in organizing activities related to student’s wellbeing, if required.
  • Support logistical coordination including registration, setup, attendance, and on-site facilitation and support (photos taking, set-up, on-site duty as required).
  • Help manage communications and follow-up for events, where needed.

 

5.   Administrative Tasks

  • Assist in compiling post-event reports and summaries.
  • Help in preparing slide decks, feedback summaries, and basic reporting using structured templates.
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments from time to time.

  • Strong interest in education and community development environment.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting standards. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. 
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and willingness to develop strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative and willingness to work independently with guidance, while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Comfortable managing tasks within agreed timelines.
  • Pleasant personality with good communication skills and interpersonal skills 

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Minimum Academic Qualification:


Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Education, Business, Social Sciences, Communication or related field.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiar and has exposure to basic accounting principles, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Prior internships in finance, accounting or related fields is an added advantage.
  • Involvement in university clubs, volunteer programs, or event organization is a plus.
