The Group Chief Technology Officer (GCTO) is a strategic and operational leader at the intersection of business strategy, educational innovation, and technology execution at scale. GCTO is a front-facing business partner responsible for leveraging technology as a force multiplier to drive student outcomes, empower educators, and ensure long-term organizational growth and resilience.

The GCTO reports directly to the Group Executive Chairman and partners closely with academic, operational, and functional leaders across TEG to co-create and deliver the Group’s vision of Digital First, Investing in People, Campus 2050, and Ecosphere & Sustainability.

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Technology Vision & Strategy
•Define and execute a forward-looking technology vision that supports TEG’s mission and competitive advantage.
•Anticipate global technology trends (AI, automation, personalization, immersive learning, cybersecurity) and ensure the Group is positioned to adapt and lead.
•Develop a Group-wide technology roadmap that balances standardization with local campus needs.

Innovation & Growth
•Drive innovation in learning platforms, administrative processes, and digital student/parent experiences.
•Champion bold experimentation (AI tutors, adaptive learning, digital campuses, etc.) while ensuring scalable delivery.
•Build strategic partnerships with global edtech firms, cloud providers, and ecosystem partners.

Technical Excellence & Delivery
•Ensure all platforms, systems, and architectures are secure, resilient, scalable, and fit-for-purpose.
•Oversee enterprise architecture, cloud adoption, cybersecurity, and data governance.
•Lead operational excellence, including business continuity, disaster recovery, and risk management.

Business Alignment
•Translate TEG’s strategic goals into a clear, measurable technology plan.
•Act as the bridge between the Board, C-suite, and technical teams -communicating risks, opportunities, and trade-offs with clarity.
•Align technology investments with educational outcomes, staff productivity, and shareholder value.

Talent & Culture
•Attract, retain, and develop world-class technology talent, including digital learning experts, engineers, data scientists, and cybersecurity leaders.
•Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and purposeful innovation across the Group.
•Build leadership succession pipelines.

•Delight Students & Parents: Co-create engaging, accessible, and personalized digital experiences that drive better learning outcomes.
•Empower Educators & Staff: Deploy tools that make work 10x more productive, meaningful, and enjoyable.

•Build Trust, Safety & Equity: Safeguard data, ensure reliability, and champion accessibility, fairness, and compliance across the Group.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (required).
•Master’s degree in Technology Management, Business Administration (MBA), or related advanced field (preferred).
•Professional certifications in relevant areas such as:
oCloud & Architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional)
oCybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA)
oProject / Technology Leadership (e.g., PMP, ITIL, TOGAF, SAFe Agile)
•Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying at the forefront of emerging technologies.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
•Expertise in digital transformation, cloud, cybersecurity, data analytics, and emerging technologies.
•Strong business and financial acumen, linking tech investments to ROI and organizational outcomes.
•Proven strategic leadership and change management capabilities across diverse institutions.
•Excellent communication and influencing skills with Board, C-suite, educators, and technical teams.
•Ability to scale technology platforms, balance innovation with operational reliability, and manage complexity.
•Track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams and fostering a culture of innovation.
