We are seeking a Data Analyst with a strong analytical foundation and a problem-solving mindset, who thrives in working with data to generate actionable insights. In this role, you will apply your analytical expertise to ensure data accuracy integrity, and quality across multiple sources.

 

You will collaborate closely with academic and business stakeholders to understand key performance indicators and strategic objectives, translating these requirements into effective dashboards, reports, and analytical deliverables. Your insights will support the monitoring of performance metrics, identification of trends and development of forecasts to enable informed, data-driven decision-making.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES                                        

Develop data analytics pipelines to enhance Taylor’s business intelligence reach and capabilities

  • Mine and amalgamate primary and secondary data sources to bridge understanding of industry and business dynamics.
  • Build, integrate and maintain scalable data analytics pipelines that ensure accuracy and completeness of data for analysis.
  • Work closely with BI Analysts to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
  • Conduct thorough analysis to investigate data anomalies and communicate the root causes to stakeholders.
  • Perform effective data wrangling to develop core datasets, that helps the team move towards self-sufficiency that can further optimize business outcomes.
  • Perform exploratory analysis using structured and unstructured data from multiple sources to extract behavioral patterns and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Effectively prioritize and support important ad-hoc queries and data validation needed by business stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing and new metrics as needed for analytics by diligently create and update the technical documentations.

Conduct end-to-end analysis

  • Continuous collaboration with academic and business stakeholders (i.e marketing and student recruitment team) to understand the key business metrics and translate them into reporting specifications.
  • Design and maintain the appropriate reporting interfaces and deliverables i.e spreadsheets, dashboards, automated emails etc
  • Actively monitor academic and recruitment key metrics and progress, highlighting potential opportunities, risks, and implications.
  • Apply statistics methodologies to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and every touchpoint in the sales pipelines that could be helpful for the diagnosis and predictive analysis.
  • Present actionable insights and propose recommendations through data visualization and storytelling for academic and sales initiatives.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in mathematics, statistics, information systems, computer science, data science or other quantitative fields of study. Minimum three (3) years of work experience that directly relates to this job specification.

 

Related Experience

  • At least three (3) years of relevant analytical experience, ideally with exposures to Sales/Marketing/Financial Analysis/Research.
  • Experience in CRM platform like Salesforce is required.

 

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Technical & Functional Skills: -

  1. Knowledge in one of more analytics-oriented programming languages such as Python, R and/or MATLAB will be an advantage.
  2. Experience with navigating relational databases or data warehouse.
  3. Ability to access a relational database using SQL with fluent ability to understand, write and modify SQL query.
  4. Ability to leverage on Power BI as a data visualization tool to create reports and dashboards will be highly advantageous.
  5. Adept at problem solving using both textbook methods and novel viewpoints.
  6. Familiarity with core analytics concepts such as conversion, segmentation, retention, propensity, funnel analysis.

 

Professional-related

  1. Knowledge and skills in CRM tools
  2. Sales tracking and analyses.
  3. Knowledge of market research, consumer insights and competitive analysis.
  4. Knowledge and skills in computer software. E.g. Microsoft software applications.
  5. Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and/ or Mandarin.
