JOB PURPOSE

The Assistant Manager – Housekeeping Operations Excellence plays a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization at Taylor’s Hostel facilities. This position focuses on creating and implementing efficient housekeeping processes, managing dedicated housekeeping teams, and fostering an environment that promotes student well-being and academic success.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure seamless day-to-day housekeeping operations, including room check-in/out processes and cleaning of common areas, delivering consistent, high-quality service.
  2. Identify and implement strategies to optimize processes, adopt innovative cleaning methods, and continuously improve service standards.
  3. Recruit, train, and mentor housekeeping staff to build a motivated, high-performing team while promoting a positive workplace culture.
  4. Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and equipment inventory to ensure availability, minimize costs, and prevent shortages.
  5. Conduct regular inspections to evaluate cleanliness and hygiene, addressing any issues proactively and ensuring compliance with standards.
  6. Uphold all health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.
  7. Work closely with the Residents’ Experience & Welfare team and the Reservations team to align housekeeping activities with overall operational goals.
  8. Maintain detailed records, generate reports on housekeeping performance, and analyze feedback to enhance operational efficiency.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  2. Certification in housekeeping management or operational excellence is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE

  1. Minimum of 5 years in housekeeping operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  2. Experience managing large-scale housekeeping operations, preferably within educational institutions or the hospitality industry.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  1. Expertise in modern cleaning techniques, equipment, and eco-friendly products.
  2. Proficiency in safety and hygiene regulations.
  3. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint.
  4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
