Assistant Manager, Graduate Employability & Career Insights

The Assistant Manager, Graduate Employability & Career Insights supports the delivery of strategies and initiatives that enhance graduate employability and employment outcomes. The role is responsible for supporting the collection, management, analysis and reporting of graduate employment, employability and career-related data to provide meaningful insights for decision-making and continuous improvement.

Working closely with the Head of Career Services, Career Advisors, academic stakeholders and other relevant departments, the Assistant Manager will monitor graduate employment performance, identify trends and gaps, support targeted employability interventions and contribute to the achievement of Career Services and institutional KPIs.

The role will also support the effective management of graduate employment initiatives, internship and work-based learning (WBL) data, digital career systems and operational processes. The Assistant Manager is expected to translate data and labour market intelligence into practical insights that support improved student and graduate outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Employer Relations and Strategic Partnerships
• Support the implementation of initiatives to improve graduate employment outcomes.
• Monitor graduate employment performance against agreed institutional and departmental KPIs.
• Track employment outcomes, including job placements, employment conversion and other relevant indicators.
• Identify trends, gaps and student populations requiring additional employability support.
• Support the development of targeted interventions for students and graduates experiencing challenges in securing employment.
• Work with Career Advisors and relevant stakeholders to ensure employability initiatives respond to student needs and employer expectations.
• Support initiatives that improve the quality and relevance of graduate employment opportunities.
• Contribute to strategies supporting specialised student populations, including international and postgraduate students.
• Monitor the effectiveness of employability initiatives and recommend improvements based on outcomes and data.

2. Data Management, Analytics and Career Insights
•  Coordinate the collection, consolidation and management of data relating to:
• Graduate employment and job placements.
• Internship and WBL placements.
• Student utilisation of Career Services.
• Employer engagement and opportunities.
• Student and employer satisfaction.
• Career development and employability programmes.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness and timely updating of graduate employment and career-related data.
• Maintain appropriate data quality and validation processes.
• Analyse data to identify trends, gaps, risks and opportunities.
• Prepare regular reports, dashboards and performance updates for the Head of Career Services and relevant stakeholders.
• Support the monitoring and reporting of departmental and institutional KPIs.
• Translate data and findings into clear insights and practical recommendations.
• Support labour market research and analysis to identify emerging employment trends and opportunities.
• Ensure appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive student and graduate information.

3. Graduate Employment Insights and Reporting
• Develop and maintain regular reporting on graduate employment and employability performance.
• Track student progression through relevant employability and career development activities.
• Monitor conversion across relevant stages, including opportunities, applications, interviews, offers and employment.
• Identify factors affecting graduate employment outcomes and escalate significant trends or risks.
• Support the preparation of reports and presentations for management and relevant University stakeholders.
• Develop clear visual summaries and dashboards to support decision-making.
• Support data-driven reviews of Career Services programmes and initiatives.
• Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, consistent and aligned with institutional requirements.

4. Digital Systems and Process Improvement
• Support the effective utilisation and continuous improvement of the Career Management System and other relevant digital platforms.
• Monitor data quality and completeness within relevant systems.
• Support the centralisation of student, employer, opportunity and graduate employment information.
• Identify gaps, duplication and inefficiencies in existing processes and workflows.
• Support initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve administrative efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for automation and improved reporting.
• Work with internal stakeholders and relevant system providers to resolve operational or data-related issues.
• Support improvements that enhance the student and staff experience when using Career Services systems.

5. Internship, WBL and Experiential Learning Support
• Support the monitoring and reporting of internship and WBL participation and placement outcomes.
• Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure data and records relating to internship and WBL activities are accurate and complete.
• Identify trends and gaps relating to opportunity availability, participation and student outcomes.
• Support the review of employer and student feedback relating to internship and experiential learning.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve the quality and effectiveness of internship and WBL processes.
• Support relevant faculties and departments in planning and monitoring internship and WBL cycles.
• Assist in ensuring relevant processes and records comply with University requirements.

6. Student Employability and Career Development Support
• Support the delivery of the Career Services Explore–Experience–Engage (E-E-E) framework.
• Work with Career Advisors and the Career Services team to identify common student employability gaps.
• Support the development of targeted programmes and interventions based on student needs and employment data.
• Contribute to initiatives relating to:
o Career exploration.
o Internship and job search.
o Application and resume preparation.
o Interview and assessment preparation.
o Employer engagement.
o Workplace readiness.
• Monitor student participation and utilisation of employability programmes and services.
• Evaluate programme outcomes and recommend improvements.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with the Head of Career Services, Career Advisors and other Career Services team members.
• Collaborate with faculties, academic staff and relevant University departments to support graduate employability outcomes.
• Support communication and coordination with relevant employers and external stakeholders when required.
• Develop effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including academic schools, student support teams and other relevant departments.
• Contribute to relevant meetings, projects and working groups.
• Maintain awareness of graduate employment, labour market and industry developments relevant to Taylor's University students and graduates.

8. Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
• Support the efficient and effective delivery of Career Services operations and initiatives.
• Review processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
• Maintain accurate and complete records and documentation.
• Support the achievement of agreed service utilisation and satisfaction targets.
• Identify operational issues and escalate significant risks where appropriate.
• Promote the effective use of data in planning, decision-making and service improvement.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and innovation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Career Services.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline such as Business Management, Human Resource Management, Education, Psychology , Career Development, Data Analytics, Statistics, Communications or another relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in

Or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience working with data, KPIs, reports and performance analysis.
• Experience preparing reports, dashboards or management presentations.
• Strong ability to analyse information and identify meaningful trends and insights.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities within agreed timelines.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and relevant data or digital platforms.

Highly Desirable
• Postgraduate qualification in Business, Education, Career Development, Human Resource Management, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
• Experience working in a university or higher education environment.
• Experience with graduate employment or employability data.
• Experience using Career Management Systems, CRM systems, student information systems or related databases.
• Experience developing dashboards and data visualisations.
• Experience supporting internship, WBL or experiential learning programmes.
• Knowledge of labour market information and graduate recruitment trends.
• Experience supporting international or postgraduate student populations.
