Assistant Manager - Accounts

JOB PURPOSE

 

The Accountant (Assistant Manager) is primarily responsible for providing accurate and timely accounting information and reports based on the best accounting practices and standards while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, and apply consistent accounting practices across the business.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Involve in financial closing activities, preparing the monthly management financial statements and reports, in close cooperation with team members within the allocated timeframe.
  • Ability to be hands-on and involve in preparation of journal entries, accounting and tax schedules with support from team members.
  • Lead the team in documentation of all the accounting records in compliance with regulations.
  • Support the analysis of the periodical business performance.
  • Monitor and verify the routine deliverables of accounts payables, account receivables and general ledger.
  • Facilitate and coordinate tax and statutory reporting.
  • Assist in establishment of robust procedures.
  • Ensure the application of appropriate internal control framework and risk management procedures across the business.
  • Drive and support automation, standardization and simplification in process, continuously improve the end to end process, and at the same time maintaining strong corporate governance.
  • Manage , train and develop staff within the finance vertical.
  • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders in execution of functions.

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Accountancy or professional qualification such as MICPA, ACCA or equivalent.

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years relevant working experience, with minimum 3 years in a supervisor role.

  • Detailed oriented and meticulous
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and technical skills
  • High organizational and stress management skills
  • Well-versed in adopting metrics to finance effectiveness, good knowledge and proficiency in processes, programs and tools.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and accounting software. Knowledge of SAGE accounting would be an added advantage.
