WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking an experienced Competitive Swim Coach to join our aquatics team and work with one of our competitive swim squads. This role is ideal for a club coach looking to transition into a school-based programme, where performance coaching sits alongside strong pastoral care, clear schedules, and collaboration with experienced Lead Coaches.
You will be supported by our Lead Coaches, allowing you to focus on quality coaching, swimmer development and long-term progression.
JOB DESCRIPTION
To efficiently and effectively support the Aquatics and PHE Department in their delivery of high level swimming teaching and coaching across the school. Experience of teaching swimming in a school setting is essential.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coach a competitive squad, delivering well-planned land and in-water sessions
- Collaborate closely with Lead Coaches on training direction and swimmer progression
- Support Senior Squad sessions when required
- Support Swim Academy sessions when required
- Assist with the organisation and delivery of swim meets (local and international)
- Support PHE swimming lessons as part of a broader, well-rounded aquatics programme
- Assist with meet entries and swimmer administration using TeamUnify and Team Manager
- Contribute positively to whole-school events and the wider school community
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Recognised swimming coaching qualification (e.g. ASCA, AUS Swimming or other internationally recognised equivalents)
- Minimum of 5 years’ coaching experience in a club or squad environment
- Experience working with swimmers of different ages and abilities
- Comfortable using Google Workspace and swim management software
Desirable:
- Experience in an international school or youth development pathway
- Knowledge or experience in strength and conditioning for swimmers
- NROC licence
- Sport degree or equivalent
