JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of IT Infrastructure and Development is responsible for the overall planning, organising, and execution of all IT functions in the school. This includes managing the school's IT infrastructure, supporting instructional technology, ensuring data security, and leading digital transformation initiatives to enhance the school's learning environment. The IT Director collaborates with academic and administrative staff to align technology with the school's mission and goals.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement the school’s technology vision and strategy in alignment with educational goals and whole school priorities (aligned with Taylor’s Schools and approved by Head of Operations)
  • Support the management team in identifying technical needs and priorities
  • Set up and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of IT to the Whole School. 
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team to ensure the effective delivery of services.
  • Ensure the school network is robust and reliable and meets the needs of the users, and that sufficient forward planning is in place to facilitate growth
  • Plan and manage the Strategic ICT Plan to support the Whole School Priorities 
  • Lead and provide implementation plans for current /planned projects
  • Liaise with vendors on IT related matters 
  • Manage and plan the IT resources, assets allocations and budget
  • Oversee the digital transformation initiatives to improve teaching, learning, and operational efficiencies
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive school and student data
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to prevent security breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g., PDPA in Singapore)
  • Collaborate with academic team to support the integration of technology into the curriculum
  • Ensure business continuity in case of IT failures or cybersecurity incidents
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for IT systems
  • Any other duties or project as assigned by the reporting Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 8 years of experience in IT management, preferably in an educational or international school setting.
  • Proven experience in network management, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
  • Strong knowledge of educational technology tools (LMS, classroom tech, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with local data protection laws (e.g., PDPA) and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams.
