JOB DESCRIPTION
A Careers & Alumni Officer guides and supports the learners in their career development and provides alumni with ongoing career assistance. This role involves sharing careers resources, job placement, networking and event coordination as well as curating and maintaining alumni networks.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain relationships with alumni to offer ongoing career support and networking opportunities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local employers and organisations to facilitate job placement opportunities for students and alumni.
- Curate and distribute career-related educational opportunities.
- Generate reports to support university applications and to reflect university outcomes.
- Support with the organisation of high impact careers and university events within the school and in the wider community.
- Oversee data management and configuration across key EdTech systems, ensuring seamless integration between iSAMS and university application platforms.
- Coordinate with marketing, IT, and academic stakeholders to manage event planning and deliver accurate data.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in counselling, career development, psychology, or a related field
- Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with colleagues, learners and parents
- Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with external stakeholders such as university reps and other guidance counsellors
- Evidence of continued relevant professional development
- Experience in gathering and collating data
- Experience in working with learners and adults with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Experience of working with a school management information systems such as iSAMS.
- Experience in an international school environment
- A demonstrated and genuine liking and appreciation of learners
- Ability to work under pressure and remain solutions focused
- A motivated individual with high standards and expectations
- Ability to take initiative and learn new things
- Resilient, flexible, adaptable and sensitive to the needs of others
- Communicate effectively in Standard English both orally and in writing
- Active listener with strong interpersonal skills
- A sense of humour and ability to positively engage and influence others
- Setting a good example through presentation and personal and professional conduct
